WORSHIP PRACTICES

Below is a list of precautions that Zion Lutheran Church H.B. Mi. is taking when resuming church services during the COVID-19 epidemic.

  1. Social Distancing - Sit in every other pew with one family per pew
  2. There will be no paper bulletins or use of hymnals - everything will be shown on the screen.
  3. The fellowship / attendance books will not be used at this time.
  4. The offering plate will be available as you enter / exit the church.
  5. Please enter the building through the main church doors or at the North entrance of the parking lot. (not the alley way or South entrance through the school. Hand sanitizer will be available at each entrance.
  6. The cry room will be locked. (please try not to use it)
  7. The dismissal (post service) will be row by row, beginning at the back and moving forward.
  8. If you choose to wear a mask and/or feel more comfortable wearing one, you are encouraged to do so. (no masks are required)
  9. Doors at each entrance will be propped open pre-service and then again post-service to make it more convenient for you and to eliminate touching door handles.
  10. Coffee fellowship will be discontinued until further notice.
  11. Communion will be individual cups placed every other place in the tray. Gloves will be worn to administer the bread. Instead of kneeling, it will be one continuous line with ample spacing between tables. One side of the church will be served at a time.
  12. The heating / air conditioning system will remain on but the overhead fans will be off during the service.

For those who are at a higher risk of contracting the virus, please know that for your own safety you should remain at home. If you feel uncomfortable for ANY reason being in closer proximity to others, don't feel that you have to attend. We don't want anyone to feel pressed, pressured, pushed, guilty, anxious, etc. If you don't feel comfortable coming to church yet, please don't. We want anyone who comes to be completely comfortable doing so.

If you have any concerns please let an Elder know.
