This Thursday, September 22 is school pictures. Smile, everyone Smile

Last Tuesday we were able to take a field trip to Project R.E.D. in Bad Axe at the Huron Community Fairgrounds. R.E.D. stands for Rural Education Day. We attended a variety of sessions.  The opening session shared with students a number of the agriculture related careers. Our own Dustin Emerick was chosen to participate in the presentation! Some of the topics included dairy nutrition and animals, veterinary science, soil conservation, beef cattle, large equipment (we got our picture taken with a Maus), corn by-products, how milk is made, agriculture in different countries, and of course they gave us lots of snacks throughout the day!
A big thank you to Melinda Smaglinski, Michelle Pasiak, Matt Rick, and Steve Mellendorf for chaperoning the trip!

Week of September 5, 2016

Spelling begins this week. Students will be taking a pretest on Unit 1 words on Wednesday and a final test on Friday. Word lists for the year were sent home with your child on Thursday. If students receive 100% on the pretest they will not have to take the final test! I have put both third and fourth grade words on the Spelling City website. Students are able to access links that will teach, test and allow them to play games with each week's words.

The web address for Spelling City is: https://www.spellingcity.com/gustc/

Memory work starts this week on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Students have received their goals for Accelerated Reader. I will be posting them in Jupiter Ed. this week.

Have a great week!
